What is Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a natural state of heightened awareness. During hypnosis the mind has the ability to accept suggestions conductive to one’s well-being.
When in hypnosis, consciousness can be expanded to up to 2000%. You are never asleep or unconscious but are always in control of your mind. Your senses become more acute, there is a profound feeling of relaxation through every nerve and muscle of the body.
Stress, in its many forms, is related to some physical and mental ailments. Any predisposition to illness or disease is intensified by stress. Your body will feel the results if emotions are not given relief. The first major benefit to hypnosis is deep relaxation and an opportunity to explore the stresses in life both positive and negative. Hypnosis can open the flow of communication between the mind and the body facilitating mind-body awareness. The energy previously used to cope with stress can now be directed to managing stress, personal growth and healing. We learn to view more objectively the expectations and demands placed on us by society, family, friends, employers and ourselves.
Our minds can be likened to a computer, storing and processing all information we receive from birth to the present. During hypnosis one has the ability to access sub-conscious memories. We then recognize behavioral patterns, and what created our needs, our desires and our fears thus enabling the individual the unique opportunity to view life and life’s choices with acceptance and compassion.
By recognizing our physical, emotional and spiritual needs, we can change and re-condition our behavior to assist us in reaching our goals. The inward search can be a fascinating journey of letting go, moving forward, learning and growth. Inner harmony and balance comes from within and with that harmony comes acceptance of our unique individuality.
Hypnotherapy is a technique used to regain a sense of empowerment, control and ultimately self-awareness. As we turn our vision inward, we realize that within our own minds we have the answers.
